I have 2000+ domains with godaddy. What if I get 2000 WIPOs???
Will I pay them $58000???? HELLLL NOOOOO.
I am transfering away ASAP, either I get a refund or not.
Anyway I will do a charge back on this.

This is the second time I am charged with something as ridiculous as this.
I will not share it cause it is a very easy way to charge anyone you know at godaddy with $9.95 a pop.

Moniker here I come. Again.

Unfortunately it has happened to others before you. Search the forum for similar threads.
It should be in their fine print.

Not a bad idea to transfer away, if they have not put the name on hold for pending dispute. Good luck.

Of course, no doubt. Or Domainsite is OK too IMHO. Domainsite gives $7 domains to everybody (and they do not charge 3% fee for Paypal payments as Enom does). Enom you need $6.95 acccount and Moniker you need to ask them for better pricing.

Godaddy is good for uninformed, interned uneducated public which likes ads with big-tittied girls, bullshit cupons, go via 10 screens before checkout and like-a-hell arrogant CEOs.

Enom, Domainsite, Moniker...they are for professionals/geeks.

well my concern with Moniker is the prices... $18.95 or $8.95 with $1000 funding. I dont' reg new domains and just did my renewals at GD / Fabulous & 1and1 :(

I read here on DNF you need to ask and you can get $6.85, but I did not do that I am using Enom 6.95 or Domainsite 6.99. But the renewal at Domainsite is 7.99 so sooner or later I will move all domains to Enom anyway...

yes just sent email to Monte @ Moniker about this.. I was totally clueless about this :O

$5.99 with private reg at 1and1 seemed very good especially for TM issue domains :) so I did have a lot there, then GD has domains from back 2002...

I have over 1500 domains with godaddy.com.

If they charged me this fee, I would seriously consider transferring my domains elsewhere.

Hmmm, lets see! The party that filed a dispute with WIPO have already paid $2,000. This is irrespective of whether they will win that dispute or not. If they file dispute for all of your 2000+ domains they'll have to pay upfront $2000x2000=$4,000,000!!?? So, there is nothing you should be afraid of, unless all of your 2000 domains have TM issues...

I for one am shocked that someone posting under the name "DVDRIP" would be involved in any kind of intellectual property dispute.

I moved out of GD a long time ago. In the early days of NetSol/Register.com, GD was a good alternative. But GD's illustrious CEO promotes his own agenda. That might be his prerogative; mine is never to use GD again.

There might be 2000 different people AND not all UDRP domains have TM issues.

At first glance, I thought this was a bumped thread because your complaint is exactly like others I've seen here before.

GoDaddy adds restrictions and fees that others don't, such as:

* 60 day transfer-out restriction after internal transfer or registrant change.

* reports of them suspending / deleting domains they felt were of a controversal nature; for people doing adult, GD is a risky place to have domains.

* Surcharge galore, such as their $0.25 ICANN fee they descreetly tack on the price while other registrars include that.

* Cross-sell hell where one has to be very cafeful not to accidently click the wrong box, button, etc.

Using GoDaddy is often a necessary evil to get some domain transactions done, but having anything important there is asking for trouble.

Best to transfer domains out of there whenever possible unless it's a cheapo domain(s) that you're planning to resell - many newbies like / use GoDaddy ... I guess those sexy girls commercials do work LOL!

Not exactly true ... substantial discounts exist for filing a UDRP action for multiple domains ... they likely do could do such a filing for way, way less.

It's highly unlikely any legitimate, let alone even semi-legitimate company, etc would do that for 2000 domains, but what's to stop an offshore entity with questionable finances from doing such a bulk filing? ... basically nothing.

And while it's true the respondent can counter-sue for reverse hijacking, that's of little help if the complainant is offshore and/or has little to no money/assets to go after...

A more realistic situation is a company / person filing a bulk UDRP for say upto a few dozen domains ... 50 domains x $29 each ain't exactly pocket change.

In a nutshell, it appears GoDaddy charges the $29 upfront before the UDRP has been decided; I bet GoDaddy charges for each GD registered domain contained in a UDRP complaint. Ouch!

I think this is pretty much the rule for quite a few registrars now.

Indeed GoDaddy is gearing itself towards the entry level user market rather then industry users. I guess it is working well for them.
