What would these cost / each if they streamlined the process of becoming a registrar?

Sheesh...

I wonder what kind of revenue on average most of those not so well known registrars are bringing in every month. It looks like it would be tough to make a name for yourself considering the competition.

Yes, i think eNom now has 75 registrars which must be used in part or all to power clubdrop.

That's what I'm wondering. I'm sure it doesn't matter with the rediculous ammount of profits they are pulling from this racket they are scheming. Basically taking away from the drop system ICANN created to prevent such abuse from happening.

Let's not forget eNom keeps most names that expire in their system for a additional year, to place on their parking program.

ICANN needs to enforce a policy upon registrars keeping them from abusing their power. And restoring order to the drop system.

This is getting absurd already. I think its time that ICANN overhauls their position, or a new organization is created. Domain names have become far too important to be managed so poorly.

I personally think ICANN should NOT allow that. Btw all those eNom* company domains redirect to parking sites.

I have yet to figure out what ICANNT does besides collect registrar accredation fees, domain reg fees and set up their meetings in far off locations to avoid as much interference as possible.

They have nothing that allows them to take any action against a BAD registrar except pull their accredation. They have yet to pull 1. This is a SELF-regulated industry full of abuse, and the Domainer has NO say whatsoever.

I couldn't agree more with you. I really think Icann is THE problem right now and we need to get rid off this body unless they are able to reform themselves. I also think that as a community we should gather our forces and start a coordinated action to make our voice heard. Let's have a say.
