My work is closing and I must find some funds in the next few weeks to make ends meet, the server is located at my work (weââ¬â¢re an ISP) and I have to either find a host for it or sell it, right now Iââ¬â¢m leaning towards selling it if I can get a serious enough offer. This site has some real potential and if I had the time/money I would not think twice about keeping it
I owned this domain for years, I've been offer several hundred dollars for it years ago just for the name. Back in October 2004 I decided to do something with it. I am selling this as a complete site including the $300 forum software, custom designed logo (not clip art I paid an artist to design it), custom programmed caching front end, custom designed RSS engine, and some extra ASP software such as Absolute Banner Manager XE - Version 2.0, Absolute News Manager and many plug-ins. I paid over $290 for the Absolute software, Weblog Expert log analyzer $75, custom sql news system. The site is on a Windows 2k server box and is in ASP. I am willing to sell the whole Dell 400SC 512m ECC P4 2.8gig 800Mhz FSB, 120Gigabyte HD server.
The server was pruchased back in October just to run this site. I will sell the machine, but not the Windows 2K & SQL license you will need to attain your own license for the installed software. You do not need to buy the server, I am offering it incase you want the entire site as it is working now, I will include the server for $450 plus shipping.
I had Chis Mohler call me from OverStock.com, he's the affiliate manager, around 3 weeks ago, he told me they we're sitting around and was thinking of the perfect domain name for a deal site, they decided on KickAssDeals.com and seen I had it. He contacted me directly and wanted to help me get the site going. He said he has affiliates that make over $5,000 a month and with my site and domain name it should pull in some serious traffic, I'll provide his contact information to the buyer.
I do have 10,000's of real visitors a month. Many are subscribed to the feeds by RSS, I seen a few web sites use our feeds on their front page and in their forums. This site requires someone to spend some time with it to make it fly. I'll give the buyer the programmers email address of the SQL news system I am using. I designed a caching system to allow the site to take 1000's of hits without getting a beating processor wise. 90% of the front page is built using cache files.
I do not update this site for days or some time a little over a week and yet the traffic keeps coming, I have promoted it some with google adwords back in November for a short period and synicat8., but itââ¬â¢s been a while and yet the RSS feeds are still growing. I have made some affiliate commissions with the site, but really not a high amount, mainly due to lack of involvement and advertising funds. For a site thatââ¬â¢s basically 3 months old Iââ¬â¢m happy with the results.
