I love the article as the people named confess, we didn't mean no harm...we just want to make a buck (or thousand).

How many of these folks named are members here?
(Note to self: Don't do interviews over the phone. Plead the 5th)

Cybersquatters pick up .xxx trademark domains

ICM Registry has contracted with the National Arbitration Forum, based in Minneapolis, to handle domain name disputes, which are expected to arise with the addition of ".xxx" to the Internet.

Hmmm.. so no udrp for xxx?

One of the tm squatter from the article Justin Crews also owns Geocities.xxx and snapfish.xxx.

some are obviouse squating but some like NBC,xxx could be used for something like Naught Blonde C----.xxx (you get the picture)

it would have been smarter (and maybe cheaper) for the big companies to protect abd by the extension.

for the smaller companies - they just have to wait it out when the squaters drop them after a year.

One guy on Facebook domain group registered .xxx domains. He got about 30 TM domains on the list (Apple, iphone, Google).
