He helped opened up the west, he was under George Washington's command for a time (During the revolutioanry war) and even personally lead President Abraham Lincolns Grandparents (with about 100 other settlers during tis particular trip) into Kentucky

(The Boones and Lincolns are related through various marriages)

He was captured by Shawnee Chief Blackfish and ChiefBlackFoot actually adopted Daniel as his son, he lived with the Shawnee for about 6 months even thought of ChiefBlackfish and family as a second family...even asa cpitive of the tribe. he learned that the Shawnee were planning an attack on Boonsbough fort and he escaped in the middle of the nihgjt and travled 160 miles on foot in 4 days to warn and prepare the fort aginst the attack. The attack came and after 4 days 400 Braves gave up and went home.

Thats impressive Bid. He was obviously a great man and his name and his memory are very personal to you. For that reason you must develop it and highlight his achievements. there are alot of people out there (including me) who are very interested in history.
