DateMe.com (and.co.uk) is for sale

I bought it off Gary Kremen of Match.com and Sex.com fame a fair few years ago.

We built a dating site on there around 5 years back and then got sidetracked into other projects and after recently planning our strategy for the next 3 years it's clear that we won't be going back into dating so the domain is now for sale.

Sedo valuation was done this week for a nice mid range double digit thousands figure on the domain alone (just for the .com, didn't have the .co.uk valued), the site has around 12,000 signed up members in there but the generates no revenue and hasn't been touched for quite some time.

stats wise here's a recent a link to screenshot of analytics (was only installed on the 6th of this month) http://www.targetedmedia.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/datemestats.pdf

Web server stats here : for previous months : http://www.targetedmedia.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/stats-dateme.png

looking to move the domain but not desperate so please bear in mind when making offers good, short, memorable dating domains are hard as hell to find and cost a fortune so I'm after realistic, decent double digit thousand offers although may split the .com and co.uk if they buyer only wants/can afford one of them.

thanks

What the heck, it’s Friday and I could use a date, so I’ll open the bidding at $1,000 US.

I hate to tell you that people only bid low, wholesale/reseller prices on this site, since they are expecting to make a profit, after selling expenses and effort, if the name does sell. If nothing else, the wholesale bids here will give you an idea of the retail market price (multiply by 2 or 3), if you have not scared bidders off asking for a too high price.

Thanks for the feeback and bids, much appreciated, I don't buy and sell domains that much, I'm going on offers I've had in the past too when mentally valuing the domain as I've had $30k+ offers previously just for the .com although the Sedo valuation was higher and felt a little light still when you look around at the available dating names, most are long or short and smutty/poor or just not that brandable.

I've a $20k offer on the table outside of the flippa auction (which I didn't link to as didn't know this forum's policy on linking out to other domain sites) which I'm still not that interested in, I want to sell it but don't "need" to sell it.

I didn't realise the crack in here regarding pricing being more wholesale than retail, I'm after a retail price for it so will kick on back to flippa/drop it in a dating domain auction I think.

thanks.

On the Flippa site, link above, he has a BIN of $55K.

I knew I was going to be outbid, but not by 10 or 20 times. The name/site/links must have value as a dating affiliate site or even a parking site.
