Hey,

Just wanted to know your valuation of BMWZ8.net complete with design. Banner gets 4-5 clicks per day, site gets about 70 uniques, 110 visits per day, mainly via links. I know there could be TM issues, but if I could have your value excluding the TM thing...

http://www.BMWZ8.net

thanks!

The TM issue is overshadowing for me. Where is your traffic coming from? There is no linkpop or ovt score so I don't see a value to the name alone.

I enjoyed looking at the cars and have a few comments on the site: Your google ads seem to have optimized for charitable giving not automotive - you'd probably get more clicks if they were relevant. You should frame the pictures so that there is still some navigation on the page and visitors don't have to click back... you could also get more ads up that way.

I think this is a site that could be a little gravy train for you if you put just a few more hrs into it and BMW leaves you alone. :-)

Good luck!

lol, well the reason I say that is because I know some people care about this, and some people dont. I own lots of car names and I have never had any problems.

I guess I need Google to get the ads running with the right info, they just went up 2 days ago, so that is the reason why the ads might not be car-related just yet. I am going to make several sites such as this based on a single car and see how that works out. I wanted to know a dollar value without the TM thing so I could see what a Prospective buyer might pay...(they probably wont want to buy it if they are scared of TM issues...)

To be frank, if you really want a dollar value, it could well be in the negative. The trademark thing is definitely playing a big part here. It's not like we are talking about getting a couple of million in return for a time frame of a month or two. With a trademark complication like BMW or Nissan, the cost is too high for any type of project, from hobby, side business or serious investment. Why would someone want to make a profit of say a few hundred dollars but risk all the trouble?

well, I have never had any TM issues and I own many of these names...I think the whole TM thing has been blown slightly out of proportion...

Glad that you have NOT had those sh*t. Sometimes, people learn it the hard way. Been there, done that. (And I guess quite a number of members here have gone through that as well.) ;)

Consider yourself lucky!

I've gotten a few C+D's and they were for crappy, second-rate domains. NOT widely known TMs.

If big companies like BMW have left you alone so far, that works in your favor. IANAL, but I'm told that If they don't defend their marks they lose the right to go after you.
