Hi,
Your thoughts and appraisal of DigitalSLR.biz is greatly appreciated.
Also, do you think that "DigitalSLR.biz" is inferior/superior to "DigitalSLRs.com" and "DigitalSLRcameras.com"?
By how much?
Thanks!

I would suggest that DigitalSLRs.com is the best, not only is it a .com but it is plural which would be more beneficial as it would cover a range of cameras.

Digital SLR cameras are a small niche in the digital camera market so DigitalCameras.com woul be nice :)

I don't see great value in the .biz version as it would obviously be directed to the end-user who generally is not familiar with the .biz extension. Personally I think DigitalSLRcameras.com is unnecessarily long.

Too "technical" sounding, and I'm becoming less and less confident in the future of the .BIZ every week (maybe it's just me, though). Sorry.
Good Luck.

Digital SLR cameras are a small niche in the digital camera market...

Hi Mr Webname,

I agree with you that DigtalSLRs.com is the best name... :)

But I strongly disagree about the size of the market. It is a HUGE market!

Digital SLR cameras are the only cameras that most professionals use now. And ALL photojournalist's use them.

Nikon and Canon offer several models each at present . And every 6-12 months there is news of a new model.

The prices have also come down dramatically in the last year and a half, making this camera accessable to amateur photographers also, thus opening up another huge market.

This is a market that is only going to continue accelerating upwards for the forseeable future.

*plug* I have invested in several Digital SLR names for the very reasons listed above, and they are for sale right here on DNF at the link below... :D *end plug*

Whilst the above is of course true the SLR side of the market is still a small percentage of the overall sale of digital cameras. Just as standard SLR cameras represent a small percentage of the total number of non-digital cameras sold. SLR cameras will be used by the pro/enthusiast whilst the "average joe" will go for the simplicity of "point and shoot". That is not to downgrade the names, merely to point out the reality of the percentage of yes a huge general market.

A small percentage of a worldwide camera market, is huge! :D

Thanks for the interesting discussion, Mr W! :D
