Should I renew DistinctiveRing.com?

*Pros:

The original generic telecom industry term for custom ringtones. Still in use, but...

A lot of people would still know what the term means, and people in some industries would still use it. Just like 'disco.'

*Cons

Only 262 on Ovt. Over 250,000 on Google, but...

Someone's bound to catch it if I let it drop. What do you think is the best use for this name if I renew? What do you think anyone who catches it would do?

Defeinitely renew.

This is a technology coming very soon to all sell phones where each person can have their own vibration or tone.

Thanks both for encouraging posts and words of info and advice. This helped me into a much better mood after a long trek outside with my little head cold and all.

I work for Tier-1 telco vendor and I am not 100% sure on this domain. Reason being the "ring" is not something that we'll see in future...

right now you have polyphonic tunes which ofcourse I agree can be captured under generic term of ringing - however future services will allow users to push a caller tune to somebody else so i.e. if it's your birthday I can push you a birthday ringtone as I'm calling you.. is this something captured under disctinctive ring? not sure

either way we're only talking about renewal fee so def. keep it...
