intro Does Google goto affect server-side redirects or referrer information?

I've been looking into Google's newer google.com/goto routing behaviour and wanted to clarify something from a server/hosting perspective.

Google Search results may route users through a google.com/goto URL before sending them to the final website. The website's own 301/302 redirects and canonical URLs remain unchanged.

I'm particularly interested in whether anyone has observed a noticeable difference in:

• HTTP referrer information
• Access logs
• Redirect chains
• Analytics attribution
• Server-side handling of these requests

The SEO guidance currently suggests that website owners should not create special redirects for Google goto URLs and should continue using their normal redirects.
