I'm interested in knowing if owning an LLL.com e.g BGE.com opens you up to legal issues like UDRPs and Reverse Domain Hijacking Attempts.

Obviously, these domains are valuable, but being 3 letters means that likely there is already a US trademark listed for the acronym.

So, what does this mean for investors of LLL.com:

If I invest in a name today and the domain was originally registered prior to the trademark application are you safe?

Would even just parking a name or placing it up for sale possibly expose you to a UDRP?

It would suck to invest real money in these names only to spend more defending the name.

Thanks for your replies!

I would say it give you some protection, multiplie trademarks in different classes make it hard for a single trademark owner to claim they have priority, and given the value of LLL.com its unlikely they would be able to.
