Anyone else here notice some auction names at Pool.com never actually go on auction, and seem to get sold direct?
I have seen this happen several times lately, including a popular geographic city/county name with high Suggestion Tool numbers with the extension. I wanted it big time and was willing to pay a lot at auction. But oddly, it never went to auction as it should have.
A few days later I checked Whois and the name was newly reg'd to an end-user firm (travel agency) who specialized in travel reservations to that vacation/geographic area in another state. It still had the Pool.com nameservers listed at the time.
It's appears the travel agency purchased the name from Pool.com outside of the auction so Pool cancelled the pending auction and sold it directly to the agency. There seems to be no other explanation for that happening as it did.
