Im in the process of buying a domain name, the price is dependant completely on it's age.

I'm using three sites to check this domain and it's age is drastically different on each, from 13 years, to 10 years and finally 2 years???

I've always used whois.sc is this reliable?

I don't understand, can someone help please?

whois.sc (aka domaintools) uses cached data from registry lookups. Go directly to the registry for the "authoritative" answer.

Go to verisign.com (assuming com, net or edu) and do whois lookup for the domain. In results returned look for "Whois Server" (i.e. for registrar) and then query this server for authoritative answer.

if your only interest is because of "the age" of the domain and not the domain itself, then you may be overpaying for a useless name.

imo...

Do not buy a domain base on its age you will be throwing your money away if i registerd kjhgfffffffffxdrrrryjgkhcrdsc.com in 1992 would you buy it ?. Buy your names based on exact google searches and stick to .com .

the price is dependant on its age, $200 or $2000, the interest in the first place is because the domain is good.
