Last time i visted here when i highlighted the name of the domain it would show me if the domain is available or not. I'm guessing that feature is now offline but im wondering if there is an extention to that tool where i can use it from my browser or something similar as it was pretty handy to use. Any one know of an alternative or if the feature is going to be coming back?

How do I know if a domain name is available? There are a couple of ways to see if a domain you want is available. First, simply type the URL into Name.com's search—we'll tell you if the domain can be registered or not. Or, search for the domain in Whois Lookup. And also search on Godaddy.com.
