Hey,

A domain that I really want is expiring soon, and I want to register it as soon as it is made available. What companies can you recommend that are good for sitting on domains and then registering them. By the way, are there any laws against this?

Try the following:

www.namewinner.com --> I use it but not winning yet ... I'm namelosser right now... though nothing to loose if you try it.
www.dropwizard.com --> I know of my domains I posted in namewinner successfully grab by this service.
www.snapnames.com --> try this one too, they will charge 60 to 70 on sign up.

I know someone here will add more ...

good luck to you,
tw

There are no laws against it, in fact it's a hugely competitive market. If you really really gotta have it whatever the cost, then the best advice you can receive is don't just use one service. They all have their pros and cons, and let's be honest - even the very best occassionally gets beaten by a fortunately timed hand reg!

Best of luck,
Simon.

Yes, use as many services as you can :) There are some more snap services:

dropking.com
dropwizard.com
dotgrabber.com
007names.com
nicgenie.com
Dotregistrar's DomWish (never had a luck with them..)

and some more private club drop services..
