Domain Name Portfolio Managers, what's your registrars portfolio strategy?

Years ago I inherited the management of hundreds of domains. This was total mess with > 40 registrars used.

I optimized it to exactly 5 registrars:
- Cloudflare for all non critical domains with TLDs that Cloudflare can handle (https://www.cloudflare.com/tld-policies/) - e.g. .com .dev .org .ai
- GoDaddy for others that can not fit into Cloudflare - e.g. .bz .ch .ky .it
- A B2B registrar 1 to cover very exotic TLDs not possible (incompatible TLD) to put in Cloudflare nor GoDaddy - e.g. .ge .is .cy
- A B2B registrar 2 for vital domains with possibly registry lock etc...

Price: Cloudflare < GoDaddy < B2B registrar 1 < B2B registrar 2

Also, UnstoppableDomains for Web3 TLDs, but domains here are owned for life.

This registrar portfolio organization is clean and optimized for:
- lowering risks
- maintenance
- and bill

Putting all into a single B2B registrar would be very comfortable but very very expensive.
Keeping scattered portfolio of registrars is costs effective but nightmare in maintenance.

This is for about 500 domains, would it resist 1000 domains and more?

Then I would like to ask, what is YOUR winning strategy?

Reducing more than 40 registrars to five is already a major risk improvement. I wouldn’t necessarily push it down to one. Critical brand domains, operational domains and investment inventory have different requirements, so using the same registrar policy for all three can create either unnecessary cost or unnecessary risk.

Thank you @nicenic but what if I had to manage 4000 domains? What's would be the winning strategy in this case, still the same?
