Domain recognizability
We all know about keyword popularity of domains which is usually determined by their daily or monthly search volume, and we also know about domain brandability which usually depends on how unique, memorable, and attractive the domain is, but it seems like there might be a whole class of domains that donât have any significant search volume associated with them, and they might not be suitable as a brand (perhaps being too long or being too generic), but they are easily recognized by people once they see them on the search engine results (or on somebodyâs business card). Keyword popularity and keyword brandability are usually the most important factors in finding good domains, but if a domain can catch peopleâs attention on the search engine results simply because they recognize it and find it to be relevant to what they are searching for then why should it really matter if the keywords for that domain donât have a great number of exact searches.
NewYorkCityRE.com is an example of one of my domains that doesnât have a significant search volume as it is and perhaps might be a little too long and too generic to be used as a brand, but IF it showed up on the first few pages of the search engine results under Real Estate, Homes, or Property in New York City do you think that people are going to click on it just because of its recognizability.
