Has anyone else received a notice from Domain Registry of Canada to renew their domain ?

I received this in the mail (actual mail not email) stating that i could renew this domain. This domain is a .com though, not a .ca.

I will write some of it below ....

"As a courtesy to domain holders, we are sending you this notification of the domain name registration that is due to expire in the next few months. When you switch today to the domain registry of Canada, you can take advantage of our best savings. Your registration for "Domain.com" will expire on September 18,2008. Act Today"


Also...goes on to say..

"You must renew your domain name to retain exclusive rights to it on the web, and now is the time to transfer and renew your name from your current registrar to the domain registry of Canada. Failure to renew your domain name by the expiration date may result in a loss of your online identity making it difficult for customers and friends to locate you on the web."

Keeps going...and lists prices.

Anyone else receive this? I find it very strange.

I imagine it is the same thing as the "Domain Registry of America" whom I still receive mail from after several years and still ignore.

I have and the prices are high ..... I dont get that many ...maybe 2 a year .

the ones I get are red&white layout like an invoice.

I just received my 3rd over the past few years - threw it out too!

I get tons of them, throw them out!

Whenever I see one I get like an angry dragon.
