We all get it, but its not commonly talked about - postal mail about your domain names. I've just finished an article covering domain renewal postal mail, after receiving several letters over the weekend from Domain Renewal Group and WorldWideWeb Register. I have also posted the actual letters and high res scans of the terms and conditions.

Do you know of anyone that has fallen victim to a domain renewal / whois data scam? Are there any other companies out there that you know of?

I've met a couple of people here (Ottawa) who werent online saavy, regular businessmen thinking it was the thing to do. These spammers reach alot of people.

Alot of us know of this scam as we get these mails in our box, but it's good to keep mentioning it simon.

I get them occasionally. At first I didnt realise it was a scam.
The only reason I didnt do it was because it was more expensive, I dont send cheques through the post to companies, and I suppose subconciously I was wary of it...

I can see lots of non tech savvy people falling for it...

They must be catching people if they can/are sending them to the UK, US, and Australia..

I've gotten these scam letters. usually every six months or so. It seems to me the postal service could filter them out with their automatic mail sorters.
