There are lots of register.com clients that use domain discreet to hide their personal information. The domain they use has expired on Jan 03, 2009, those that use this service, wouldn't get any emails because there are no MX records.

I don't think it was renewed, verisign's whois says 2010, but their own still says Jan 03, 2009. The DNS is still set for domains that are expired.
