Domainers: Going back to work due to the financial crisis?

I remember a thread one year ago or something like that when someone questioned the community abount How many members left their full time jobs and became full time domainers. Now the questions is "Are domainers going back to work full time due to the financial crisis?" Lets discuss!

I have always worked for someone else. Domaining has never been a good enough income earner for me. Might be different in the future. I still do city rehabs on the side but I've cut that business back because I'm essentially house poor.

Sell domains is my full time job from 2 years...this crisis slow down the work but it's full of opportunities to make money on the web.
Internet is more strong than this crisis.
With hard work the domain sales come...just be patient and focus.
Stop parking and start to develop websites is a must.

I honestly don't feel the financial crisis in domaining, My Parked stats are pretty much where they have always been with some improvement when adding more names, And I've received more offers on my domains in the last 3 months than I've ever had before.

Develop, develop, develop... been a full time webmaster / domainer for 7 years now, I couldn't work for anyone but myself.

Unfortunately, development is not a guarantee of success over parking.

I honestly don't feel the financial crisis in domaining, My Parked stats are pretty much where they have always been with some improvement when adding more names, And I've received more offers on my domains in the last 3 months than I've ever had before.

Personally i think this is true for many people. I think during rough economic times, more domainers are trying to get cheap deals so you get more offers.

Although it may not generally be the case as i have had a lot of end user sales within last 3 months.

No, I won't be going back to my full time job.

I don't feel it but honestly, I didn't have that much coming in from domaining / monetizing. I still work a FT job for a large corporation (fixing what other people break). No intentions to voluntarily stop FT work in the near future.

I never "quit" my job but have been out since Sept 22 with ongoing and worsening Neuropathy and spinal stenosis issues.

Domaining and unparking and taking sites live is definitely providing an income, along with some nice sales.

Still Domaining.. well not so much domaining as maintaining my network of sites.. Parking/Website revenue is 10% of what it was this time last year.. but still profitable.

I have seen some parking companies hit that. Overall about 40-50% of last years per month totals. Finding a few choice names to develop is definitely helping to make up the difference.

i never quit my ft job, but looking for an excuse to do so everyday.

but they won't make me mad or do anything to p-me off

though that's not a good reason to leave, as one would like to leave on good terms.

maybe one of you guys will buy a name from me for $250k or more, then when i quit my ft job .... i could take everyone out for drinks

I would have to be making a lot to quit my day job and take on development / domaining 100%. Seriously, even if I made as much as I do FT with domaining I'd still work, I'd have twice the income to be able to pay down debts and have some fun with.

If you leave the same way many of us did, you will not have much time to relax anyway. We still have bills to pay at the end of the month and only some of us have big emergency fund.

It is not right timing to on a party to celebrate or to wake up at 10 AM. The whole point about quitting your job is to find something better where you can be happy.
