I have been very happy using Attorney Steve Sturgeon, who specializes in domain name disputes. He is based in the Washington, DC/ Virginia area --which is the center of the dotcom universe --given that VeriSign is located there and that the courts have granted jurisdiction there.

Steve bends over backwards for clients.

why do all the domain lawyers like to have ESQ in their domain name? Is it part of some acronym I'm not familiar with?

ESQ is what comes after that. We have GREAT hindsight.

Here in Canada, I think the desirable title to have for a lawyer is "Q.C." (i.e. "Queen's Counsel"), e.g. John Smith, Q.C.

I think there was a brouhaha and they stopped giving them out at some point. My lawyer's a Q.C., though. :)
