I have been very happy using Attorney Steve Sturgeon, who specializes in domain name disputes. He is based in the Washington, DC/ Virginia area --which is the center of the dotcom universe --given that VeriSign is located there and that the courts have granted jurisdiction there.

Steve bends over backwards for clients.

His website is at==>

why do all the domain lawyers like to have ESQ in their domain name? Is it part of some acronym I'm not familiar with?

Stands for Esquire

es·quire Pronunciation Key (skwr, -skwr)

n.
A man or boy who is a member of the gentry in England ranking directly below a knight (Editor's note: and a Duke :) )

Abbr. Esq. Used as an honorific usually in its abbreviated form, especially after the name of an attorney or a consular officer: Jane Doe, Esq.; John Doe, Esq.

It is an abbreviation for a mental power possessed by attorneys.

You've heard of ESP?

ESQ is what comes after that. We have GREAT hindsight.

Here in Canada, I think the desirable title to have for a lawyer is "Q.C." (i.e. "Queen's Counsel"), e.g. John Smith, Q.C.

I think there was a brouhaha and they stopped giving them out at some point. My lawyer's a Q.C., though. :)
