Hi Everyone,

I thought I would address a few posts about domain parking in March/April. The weather's getting nicer and the days longer. What does this mean for those of us in the domain parking industry? For a couple of weeks, people spend less time at their computers.

This really isn't just a Sedo phenomenon. I think everyone enjoys November and December because people typically stay indoors and shop for holiday presents. This is all well and good for those of you with parked domains, as the advertisers generally pay more during that time (depending on what sort of domain you have and which links appear on your parked pages). However, in the spring, the advertisers realize that not as many people are shopping, thus, lower PPC across the industry.

However, those who surf will come back! Travel season is rapidly approaching, so those with hotel/flight/car rental domains will possibly see an increase in earnings-per-click. Those who have entire portfolios dedicated to winter coats will probably see a drop in visitors, clicks and earnings per click.

This is the cycle of the domain industry. If any of you have specific questions on trends for particular domains, don't hesitate to send your account manager an email. You can also send me a PM and I'd be happy to discuss how your domains are performing and what we can do to max their performance!

This is very nice way to say you will paying less in the following months.
My traffic is almost the same and PPC has dropped suddenly in April.
This is not because of spring, flowers and birds...

Thanks Brad,

But there are some sectors or industries which don't have an seasonally trend on their products, for example financial companies like forex or stock trading,,,
Should we expect in advance an drop in general ppc during sedo spring?

Yes, let's blame the spring, or the rising cost of oil, or random acts of God for what's plain simple: Sedo pays its users less, because they can.

April will also be the last month Sedo is monetizing my steady 600+ domain traffic. Revenue dropped like a bird's poop from a 10 story building - straight down.

Shame that we needed a PR like this from Sedo - sounds like a Bush administration disclaimer before the economy hits new lows.

I am currently domaining in the Spring.

Listening to Shostakovich for violin and piano. It's a concert for Adsense.
