Hi,

In today's drop lists there are some domains I want.
They have no PR, no backlinks, no DMOZ, no Yahoo, nothing that could attract domain resellers to get them.

I'm trying to register them via Namecheap or Godaddy and they say the names are unavailable.

I'm really not very expert on domain expired stuff, but I had the idea that domains were released very early in the morning, arround 6:00, so I would think those domains are available by now .....

Any comment is very welcome. !

The 6am gold rush is long gone. Domains start dropping at 2pm (for com/net) and 3pm for org. I believe that the biz/info start around 9am?

ooh, well, seems I'm a bit outed, thanks for the info.

One more question, in your opinion, do you think that some PR1 to PR4 could be left deleted ?
I guess all PR5 are taken, or most of them, but PR4, 3, 2, 1 ?

if it really expires today, then it will become available for reg after 2 PM EST (com/net)
now, the whois for verisign takes anywhere for 1-3 days to update and show the new owner or no owner. It doesnt take 30 days.

np.
just make sure it really is 'dropping' today.
expires in the technical term, really only means expiration, not deletion.
so if it expires today, it will be available for renewal to its surrent owner for a while, then it will enter RGP, the it will enter a 5 day pending delete peiod.
I asumed that by expired you meant it is droping today. If not, check whois.

Which is the most accurate whois service to check for recently dropped domains ?
I use whois.sc, but they seem a bit slow to reflect recent changes.

go to pool.com
go to advanced search.
type in the domain you are after, and select 'all days'.
it should show you the day it is dropping.
if it isnt there, check the whois, its probably still in redepmtion period.
once it is 'prending delete' it will drop within 5 days. that 5 day window shows up in pool and other such services.
you can use the pool tool for free and without registering.

So, why ClubDrop closing time for com/net is 12:00am PDT, that's like 3:00PM EDT, right?
Therefore, it is an hour later the dropping time...
So, they still accepting bids even on names may already been caught by another ?
