Timing........????????

Well, lets see I think anything after the biggest terror attack in US history counts as a good time to PREVENT any possible terror.

Mr. Clinton sent a slap on the wrist flyby scud over in response to several previous Al-Queda terroist bombings and it only gave them time to grow stronger. Sorry, but there are a lot of people that don't want to wait around for another attack when there is a festering thorn like Saddam that has been defying the rules for years. It couldn't be a better time to nip this one in the bud.

I'm strongly against a US attack on Iraq if it goes against the decision of the UN. The moment US overrides the decision of UN, which include the decisions made by many prominent NATO countries such as Germany and France, it will be the moment UN's status and power will fall. In the long term I think it will drive and separate the US from the other nations of the world, and most importantly, people who should not fear the US will fear them.

Below are some of exctracts taken from the articles under United Nations :

"To develop friendly relations among nations
based on respect for the principle of
equal rights and self-determination of peoples,
and to take other appropriate measures
to strengthen universal peace;"

"To achieve international cooperation
in solving international problems of an economic,
social, cultural, or humanitarian character,
and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights
and for fundamental freedoms for all
without distinction as to race, sex, language, or religion;"

"The sovereign equality of all Members,"

we should not to go work

yes. saddam treats his people very differently - but why are we targetting saddam but allowing the zimbabwe issue to continue

why are we providing the weapons for the israel/palestine dispute

why arent we dealing with south korea who DO have nuclear weapons

Why did the us and the uk do nothing when iraw went to war with iran

the us and the uk are not the police of the world

saddam does not represent his people but no this is no different to tony blair - very few people in the uk want war and he is supposed to represent the opinion of the uk public

lets face it - the us economy is screwed in ten years time if they dont sort the fact that oil reserves are dropping and the basis of the whole us economy is cheap fuel

Empirically speaking, the majority of war casualties have always been innocent civilians.

no one "likes" war.. just like no one "likes" abortion.

no.. America does not have too conduct themselves as the world police force.. but in life..

* there's always someone stronger
* always some one richer
* always someone more beautiful
* always a world leader.. since the dawn of creation.. there's always been one country which has held the stage as the world leader.

Bush clearly stated after 9-11
"We will go after the terrorists AND THOSE WHICH HARBOR the Terrorists"

Iraq took in the al-queda members after the Afgan action..

Thus, they harbor terrorists.

iraq ... just needs a hug ... right? Maybe a real strong condemnation from the UN? More trade sanctions? There are just misunderstood? The western media is completly biased ... right.

I can say this .. if 80,000 Torontoninas said the war is wrong ... Bush must be on the right track.

it's frutile to even discuss or waste our energy on this topic.. for what will be done.. will be done.. my hope is if a war breaks out.. that the civilian pop. of Iraq will be covered.. and that loss of life might be as successful as the Israel bombing of Iraq's reactor.. where one civilian casuality took place. Although, I don't belive in this case, it will be this "nice" unfortunately.
