Dot CN on Steroids?

how much cud a LLL.cn (letter letter letter) domain go for now and say in a couple of years time pricewise?

A good one would probably fetch $5,000 at the moment to an end user.

Where could they go? Well China is soon going to be the biggest online market in the world, so potentially the sky is the limit.

Chinese have always been big on acronyms, because English Words don't mean much to them. They tend to use the first letter of each Pin Yin syllabol.

The unknowns, however, are whether IDN or Romanic Domains will dominate the Chinese market and whether dot com or dot cn will be the gold standard.

Personally, I think that China will be dominated by IDN, but for privacy and cost reasons dot com will be preferred, as it has already been widely adopted.

To give you a clear indication of my perspective, I dropped more than 40 three letter acroyms last year but have invested in something like a 1,000 IDN dot coms and dot nets.

Of course I could be wrong and the Chinese market will be so massive there will be room for more than just one solution. At the end of the day you pays your money and takes your chance.

Can't confirm that they have all gone, but I don know that those that I dropped were snapped up very quickly!

I received some offers from my .CN's but not enough. Last offered I received was $1,500 for www.outsourcing.com.cn. Ofcourse, I did not bite the price.

I received offers to my v6.cn, v8.cn, career.cn and work.com.cn

And cheap offer to m.org.cn, s.org.cn domains.

I'm waiting for the right buyer at the right time. Long term investment folks.

I think I would have taken that offer. Dot com.cn seems to be being superceded by dot CN and it is not clear to what extent longer English names will be adopted by the Chinese. PM me if you are interested in buying any of mine, which are mainly 3 letter dot CN.

The domain/website target are American and Europian company for outsourcing services not chinese. The chinese will be the workforce but selling their services to their target clients will be in plain english.

We'll see what happen for another years to come.

Dot CN is further on. Personally, I think they are more valuable than dot in at the present time.

According to latest statistics from CNNIC the number of second level dot CN domains registrations grew from 293592 in June to 378477 in July. That is an increase of 29% in a single month!

Yes Dot CN has now ignited booster Rockets. Total dot CN registrations have increased to 837,103 from 722,944 a rise of 15% on this time last month!

All depends to what extent these new registrations are in PinYin, English or Punycode. I suspect much of the surge will be punycode, but until confirmed this remains wishful thinking on my part.
