Just want to let everyone know we're planning on holding face-to-face .mobi getogethers in various cities around the planet this year. We're calling them "dotMobi Happenings" and you're invited to chime in on where we should hold them. This is for all the .mobi domainers and enthusiasts that can't get to shows like TRAFFIC, DOMAINfest, DomainRoundtable or ICANN events because of logistics or the cost. These will not be stuffy formal events---the drinks and food will be on dotMobi and all are intended to be very conversational and casual. It's also a chance to possibly meet with other .mobi execs, investors and others that have found success with mobile and talk about what's on your mind.

For now I'm looking for suggestions on where to have such Happenings in North America---and even a few people who might be interested in helping to coordinate one in their particular city/region. I've set up a poll URL where you can vote for the North American city that appeals to you, or you can write in yours as well.

Thanks,

Pinky,

Nice initiative.

Consider Charlotte, North Carolina.

Charlotte is fast becoming the Southeastern USA banking, financial, and insurance center.

It is home to Bank of America and Wachovia. In addition, Charlotte has become the new training center for the US Olympic Kayak/Canoe team.

However, I understand if the market is not sizeable enough and you want to be able to reach more folks. It is perhaps 4 hours drive from Atlanta.

As they say, just a suggestion.

Dublin .... i owe you a dinner .... :)

I'd do Dublin - any excuse!

So that's two votes; Dublin's in the lead...

Personally i'll go for Havana :hat:

Pinky - This sounds like a great idea. While you're here, just want to tell you that dotMOBI have done a fantastic job of promoting and supporting the extension. They have raised the bar for launching a tld. Credit to everyone at dotMOBI for creative marketing approaches and a lot of hard work.

I could use some free grub. Come to Texas. :)

I'm available anytime for dotmobi events, I'm interested in organizing the event in Toronto, ON - Canada.

Madison Avenue, please, Madison Avenue.

Just wanted to second what Carlton said. Great job Pinky and dotmobi.

Come to NYC.

Thanks to all for your comments and for anyone that has voted so far. If anyone will be at TRAFFIC in Vegas this week I hope to see you there.
