I have recently come to a difficult decision to sell a project that I have been working hard on for over 3 years. It's a feature-packed download script that integrates with a very popular forum.
The script started off life as being free, but later last year became a paid add-on. I am not going to post any specific details since I do not want my customers knowing that the site may be sold.
The sale includes everything; site, script (full rights), custom members area used for purchasing and downloading the product, and existing customers. This is not a turnkey script, it represents 3 years, and thousands of man-hours of work. I am selling ALL Intellectual Property Rights to the script, not just reseller rights.
The buyer will essentially be taking over the project, and must be willing to do-so. To aid in the smooth transition of ownership, I will remain active in the customer support forums for a month to help the new owner get up to speed. I'll remain available for two months after the sale for coding and development support.
Because of that, a requirement is that you be a good php coder, have one on staff, or be willing to hire one. This will not only ensure that existing customers will remain supported, but it also guarantees a recurring revenue stream as access to product updates is good for one year from the date of purchase.
The minimum asking price is in the upper-mid $x,xxx range, I will accept escrow if the buyer covers the cost.
