No doubt, just keep in mind though that the majors develop content via .com for cellphones so I don't think the traction for Mobi is going to be that huge. Thanks Grabsites for your interest. I think I'm gonna keep it for now.
I'm hoping (and believing) that .mobi will eventually be as popular as .com. There are already more mobile phones than computers and television COMBINED. And half of them are less than 1 year old.
The ones with QWERTY keyboards are getting cheaper and cheaper every week. Some resellers are even giving them for free with subscription nowadays.
Of course there are alternatives to a .mobi domain name, but I really like it that they force a cell-phone friendly standard on .mobi so the users will have an impression that only .mobi are "USABLE" on cell phones.
This "quality image" will lift .mobi up.
I guess that in a few years cell phone manufacturers and marketers will have their browsers defaults to .mobi extension. The fact that Microsoft (who makes Internet Explorer) is one of the guy behind .mobi also helps.
Everyone please give your opinions. I don't mind at all if you say they are worthless. It's all personal preference. I myself saw some domains that I think worthless sold for $x,xxx, and some that I think valuable sold for $xx.
