DVD isn't video, it's digital.

DVD = Digital Versatile Disc, and is not considered video.

all depends on how they are being marketed...

if the producers of such a camera are calling it video, then you have a nice generic there. If not, then you are stuck with a dog.

a quick check in google shows there may be a little bit of opportunity there, but I would gamble it is a short term opportunity - at some point the terminology will catch up with the product

and

It's true it can stand for both. The history is:

DVD originally stood for Digital Video Disc, but then, the big players wanted to offer DVD as a separate technology, not to be confused with "videos", so they changed the V to Versatile.

Similar to what Blockbuster does in their ads, they say "available on video and DVD" ... separating video from DVD, and offering it as a different technology, because most people associate "video" with poor quality VHS's.

In either case, the name is a little redundant.
