Hi all...

I was wondering if you find it much easier to hand register TRUE generic long tail domain names which has lots of exact searches (1,000-5,000) in Google Adwords Tool.

I managed to hand register a bunch of them for resale..
A quick appraisal at Estibot also gets good results, ranging from $3,000 - $30,000 estimates. Some of these are 3-4 words with great meaning and good for search engine rankings.

I found it much easier nowadays, and from Domaintools' report, lots of them are dropped domains which can be picked up for reg fee!

Most of the domains I hand regg last week are being sold at eBay, and has already garnered bids.

Anyone find this to be true nowadays?

Cheers, Al

Yeah. If the prime basis for acquiring domain names is having good keywords with substantial results in Google Keyword Tool, then, I think that is logical. But sometimes logic does not apply in domaining. I don't know. Short domains still reign in this aspect.

I had a look at your ebay auctions. Can you explain to me how you make money when the registration fee is already higher than any bids you have.

estibot is a good guide, but don't base your hand-registrations on what estibot says - estibot is not always accurate

in my opinion, hand registering lots of names is very risky compared to investing in one or two or three high quality names. the renewal fees on lots of hand registered names will kill you.

with the way prices have plummeted lately, you can buy excellent names on the cheap right now

If you are willing to put the extra effort in, contact people who would benefit these keywords. A good pitch should get you some great results.
