Hey,

Just got this domain through GoDaddy.com www.eBayGuidance.com Obvious ideas for development would be a site which helps new ebay users with using ebay. There are no typos in the domain. Domain is easy to remember. Need an appraisal.

Thank You,
Ryan

Hmm, while the domain itself is semi-decent (low $xx-mid $xx), I'm not sure if it would violate their trademarks or not (I mean, it certainly would.. but whether or not they'd go after you).

Risky though, and I'm not sure if the profit from it outweighs the risk.

Hey daddy,

I understand your point but one thing I found curious last night as I was trying to register Ebay Guide sites is that 95% of ebay guide sites are taken ebayguide.com ebayteacher.com ebayguru.com and so on and so on. So there are a huge amount of domain names with the word "Ebay" in it that have nothing to do with the company so I perosnally don't think I have too much to worry about.

Anymore appraisals?

Thank You,
Ryan

I see what you're saying, and it may infact be allowed, because Ebay is not only just a company anymore, it's practically an industry in itself.

Hmm, good luck on your domain!

Ebay is very aggressive in pursuing trademark infringements and have won some cases that they never should have (IMHO)

If you think this is not a trademark violation, you are fooling yourself.

I hate it when people bring up trademark violations in threads. Yes, ebay is aggressive, but who cares. Let this person get a fricken appraisal without barging in and bringing it's value down. This forum went through this a long time ago and there were warnings and such handed out.

I've had some really bad fights with eBay. I don't like them one bit. The management are an arrogant bunch of idiots, IMO.

However, there are a lot of unscrupulous individuals out there who are registering domains related well known trademarks and copyrights and using those domains to send out spam and to engage in the identity theft scams known as "phishing." I get 2-3 eBay related phishing scam emails a day (I have a lot of email addresses.) So companies like eBay are on the defensive. They'll probably come after you for your domain, especially if you develop it.
