Thank you for taking the time to give your input.

The term "mixes" in relation to music comes up
over 600,000 times on google. I realize that does not
indicate type-ins, but it does tell me that "mixes" is
very much associated with music, online and otherwise...
and online music is as hot or hotter than ever.
I realize the "e" prefix is not highly regarded on this board,
but in this case, I think it works.

...on the other hand, I could be entirely off base

Any other thoughts?

gotasale... Using Google as an indicator again,
I find you're close on your statement regarding food/mixes...
around 539,000 associations vs. 600,000+ for music... so food
(including the dog type) and music are both good
markets for this domain.
