Just recently I was following a domain's dropping cycle.
It dropped 2 days ago and unfortunately I wasn't online to grab it.

First thing I did was to run a whois on the domain in order to find the owner. That whois returned all fields as empty.
Today I run again a whois and Registrant, Administrative Contact, Technical Contact, Billing Contact are still empty.

Is this something that happens often? I thought that owner has to enter his contact details or else he could loose the domain.

Any thoughts?

Interim info e.g. while a domain is pending auction after a drop etc. is quite common. But if it continues to be blank after e.g. a week, then I'd look into it.
