Thing is, I got these names recently, and when I came home earlier there were two (seperate) messages on my answering machine with inquiries about names #1 and 2, so I would like to know what end-user prices could be for each (reseller value will be handy as well).

For me this is past the appraisal stage because it seems that you have end users that are actually interested in the domains. Since you definitely have buyers, I would like at it this way - -

If you have $5,000 credit card debt or so - charge about 7,500 for one of the domains. That way - you'll keep $5000 or so after taxes and pay off that credit card.

Then do the same thing with the second domain and a second debt that you owe. We all have debts of some type - use the domains to get rid of some of your debt. (credit card, car payments, etc.)


See where I'm going with this line of thought? The buyer wants the name for an intended use, you own the name right now. The buyer can use the domain to make money and probably can write it off on taxes. Now it's time for you to decide what you want (within reason). The "reason" part comes in by not asking an outlandish figure like $750,000.

That's just my thinking.

Well, not 'definitely'. Interested, yes, but there's no guarantee that they will eventually come through and buy. It will of course depend on my prices vs. how much the potential interestees want the name/what their budget is/etc. Hence my appraisal request.

OK, but that doesn't really (end-user-) appraise the name, it just puts a pretty good (at least in your example) price-tag on it. So, according to you, if I'd have one debt of $20,000, then one of the name(s) would be for sale for, say, $28,000?

um, when reality sets in, let us know. I will tell you this, if you get offered 200- 250 for either, SELL. I have sold names here that got big ole goose eggs as appraisals for 2-500, but the 5k is a joke. Folks, you have got to be realistic. 200 for something you just paid $10 for is a 1900% profit. Me personally, I would take 75 if they were mine. What is a mediabroker? and , net? Come on.

I didn't think they WERE top-of-the-bill names, but I just would not label them as 'pretty bad' (So yeah I was wondering). Especially NanoTechFAQ. Short name, nanotech will be HUGE in a few years, nice alliteration, and a .COM, etc.


Anyway, I DO appreciate your insights, and if there's others that want to share their views/appraisals with me, then cool!
