I understand why this appraisal thread survives, but I don't understand its purpose.

If there is an actual deal in the offing, appraisals by peers are valuable, but what does this thread accomplish except to get subjective opinions from other domainers?

Should it not be called Opinions and save the Appraisal thread for the Real Deal? What buyer would take this seriously?

This is just for people unsure of their names and would like more opinions than their own. People need objective opinions.

well what would be the point as most people don't pay attention to the various sections......for example, some guy was posting in the appraisal section how we should have a seperate forum for opinions. If he believes that opinions shouldn't be posted in the appraisal section, then why not post that thread in a more suitable section

My 'opinion' was about the appraisal thread, so it belongs on the appraisal thread, doesn't it? I also posted on the suggestions thread.

But, you don't get the point, which is evident by your replies.

I fully understand the need for feedback/opinions on domain name registrations, but the much larger picture is a global need for SOLID appraisals. No one company has been able to do this.

I think that an organized group of **** can...
