Envelopes.withstamps - the latest new association for .ws. :greenlaugh:

I like .ws, especially for ".wireless."

With the Ovt's being what they are, I guess this name has value. Hard to appraise, but perhaps low $xxx to mid $xxx might do it. Who can say, really? Would high $xxx to low $x,xxx be too big a stretch now?

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking on trying to develop most of the non .com/.net names i have.

I figured it would have better results over parked.

These .ws names need to be developed and then valued on a revenue multiplier. You're buying the keyword more than the extension, but in many ways .ws (for website) works much better with a larger number of generics than .cc (credit card) or .tv (television). I've seen several .ws sites that make a few $x,xxx per month.

Thanks Stocdoctor

I think that is probably best. Developing it seems to have some decent potential.

any other other thoughts on the value?

Stoc,
Which .ws names are making good revenue? It seems just a waste to register these names unless it's a solid, generic keyword.

just my two cents.

There are members here and on the other forums that are using .ws names successfully. It's up to them if they want to tell people about it. It's all about search traffic, and not about url-bar typeins. I agree with you about the solid keywords of course. That's what it's all about with search traffic. Rather than using a low level/quality com as a header, it's about using a top industry or product keyword for direct related backlinks that incourages relevance rating. An example would be Computer.ws (for Computer Website) much more brandable and memorable than Computerwhatever123.com, less letters, and a good header for all the computer keyword typo directed traffic.

People need to get past the commie mentality that if it doesn't have direct url bar type in traffic, that the name has no value. With all the worthwhile generic traffic coms now being gone for some time, is it a surprise that we see more trademark squatting? So many just want to take the easier road to a buck rather than putting some effort into a site. That makes our little industry look bad and hurts us all in the end.

Buy a decent .ws and build a site.

Hi Mr.Pink,
what you have said is so true. Solid keywords are so important. People in England knock .org.uk. But they fly up the search rankings. I have a .org.uk (aphrodisiac.org.uk) a simple little site, but is PR2 after 3 weeks with Google.co.uk
No seo either. Just the name got it there. It is also an instant site , so no clever metatags etc.
Never underestimate a good keyword.
As far as this domain is.........good keyword for the market. You would probably need to do a bit of legwork, but there are endsers out there. Rather than advertise on sedo etc. advertise on the web! Do a cheap site & get a ranking. Never been a better time as ppc from the parking companies is criminal, in the cut you get.
cheers, Predator
