If your domain is listed for sale at sedo and want to use their escrow service then the fee is 10% instead of 3%.

What is wrong with these people?

No, thanks. I'll use escrow.com.
Much faster payment too.

i have conversated with my account manager about this very subject the other day.

it is counterproductive for sedo to charge 10% fee if your domain is listed there and only 3% if not.

they need to find a middle ground here.

maybe 5% on both ends would be a good compromise.

hopefully they will consider it.

Escrow.com charges from 3.25% to 0.89%.
Why would I go to sedo and be charged 10%???? (or 5%)

Can't you just delete the domain from your sedo account prior to initializing the escrow ??

I thought of that but maybe they check the logs. Maybe they don't even know what logs are... :)

External Transfer

You can also use Sedo’s competent and 100% secure Transfer Service for domains not listed for sale through Sedo.

These prices only apply to domain sales that were negotiated outside of Sedo
3% of the sales price

and

Please be advised that if the transaction is not conducted through Sedo but the domain is listed for sale on the Sedo marketplace the transaction fee is still 10%

And now I see this:
Please note: When a sale is completed Sedo records and publishes the sale price and domain name only. Sedo does not release personal information of the buyer or seller to public record. If either party requests a block of price and domain name record, a 2.5% fee will be assessed to the party requesting the block.

So sedo is charging almost as much as escrow does only to block the sale details!!!
Ridiculous!!!

That's ludicrous.
