Been playing around with estibot the last few days and it seems I can usually find an available domain name for over $1,000 at least once every hour.
I wonder, as a general rule, whether a domain name valued at $1,000 on estibot is worth buying (for $10 reg fee)? Or would people here set the limit lower or higher? $500? $3,000?
Bear in mind I'm talking about domain names that involve products and consist of generic terms or actual SE phrases. Also I would be developing them into simple mini-sites with affiliate links.
For example : MountainBackpacks.com is judged by estibot to be worth $1,600. "Mountain Backpacks" apparently gets 130 search requests a month. Now this domain is taken but suppose it wasn't and I could buy it for $10 reg and was willing to spend a few hours building a simple mini-site with affiliate links for mountain backpacks. Would it be a nobrainer to grab a domain name like this if available, based on the principle that estibot says $1,600?
