They seem to have locked out most dictionary words, because they're "unavailable", yet when you try to use them it is assigned to no one.

Also - it says you can't change your username once it is set, so I'm not sure how you would sell a good username to another person.

theoretically it could be done by selling you the entire account

It seems many people had a couple of accounts, like they created one for their kid who is one or something...Thought about that a while ago but thought it was stupid, now I wish I did then I could have sold it when I got a good name....not my kid the facebook name...

Definitly is a stampede going on

KevinHam was available

Agreed, its a stampede. Its total b.s. nonsense. I wouldnt pay for the url

But its FREE

And if I am a Acai Berry or an Insurance or an Auto sales agent and I can make just 1 extra sale because somebody found me because I have a user name on facebook

Whats the harm ?

That said, yeah I think its pretty stupid

Unless Google recognizes the url as seo significant

Then all bets are off

I bet Facebook has seen an unprecedented new sign up level (fueled by domainers :) )

agree, domainers and seos create speculation :))

I went for /xxx.x firstname/last initial but the (.) doesn't count towards the 5
character minimum so I'm in limbo...

I'm having fun trying dictionary words but nothings available that I

want..maybe I'll go geo ??

jim

You won't find GEO either... as far as I know, Geo names are reserved by FB itself. I was tired of trying several country and city names.

I went in a different direction and just got my name.

Feel free to add me.

The url idea is one of the best, as with myspace, it's simply convenient if nothing else to remember your own url versus some foreign numeral combination.

Yeah, I've thought of it a million times. All my friends are on FB (except one other). If I were single, I would've been on FB ages ago. It's sooo easy to hook up with chicks on FB. Chicks I haven't seen in ages etc... :) :)

I might make me an account some day, I don't see any rush though.

Yo dude! I want you to join. If your girlfriend gives you any beef tell her to talk to me and I'll smooth it over. lol

All I can say is that my account is no longer in a dead zone :undecided:

Still haven't come up with a username though.. :sigh2:
