appraise Fifa junior world cup domain

India will be hosting a very important sporting event - the junior FIFA FOOTBALL WORLD CUP in 2017.
As you guys know the junior world cup has been instrumental in major clubs discovering young talent of the future , so it attracts a lot of publicity.

I have the domain india2017.com which was registered for this purpose couple of years back.It has been recently renewed.

Based on your experience what can I expect for this domain

The domain by itself doesn't have much value IMHO. By itself, the name with the year after it has no real meaning besides the event and after the event then it really wouldn't be useful to most people.

However, if you develop a website or blog on it related to the event then that will probably make it worth something, especially to the right person and/or fan.

The biggest problem with this domain is it's time sensitive. After 2016, it would have no value as a website or domain. Build or sell quickly.

I cant see anyone wanting to invest in a name, develop it now, and then possibly get a slight increase in traffic next year and then the following year its worthless

Focus on buying names that last and don't register names with a date in them

Start developing a website now to cover your initial investment of purchasing domain name. Try to sell it just before 2017 may be someone buy it. But remember don't hold it for too long because after 2017 it will be useless.
Only hope for this domain after 2017 is that if you will be able to attach it with some historically important event in INDIA during 2017 ( very low chances ).
