No, I believe they partner with Overture. They are getting a good cut. Highest bid around .28 cents for boxing. Not a whole lot, but match that up with the draw of the domain. Many will filter down into their other categories where they might generate higher PPC.

Nearly 6.5k ovt w/ext. ? Plus there is huge organic value in the term "boxing". Much more than 20k per year in my opinion. $100k is a great bid. But I doubt it will be accepted.

nah, they are using kanoodle's feed.

communicate.com are not the brighest.. they are a lil shady too'

not so long ago.. they had this press release;

Communicate.com Buys 650+ Domains
Communicate.com Inc. a rapidly growing eCommerce company, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire more than 650 dot-com URLs.

Upon completion of the transaction, Communicate will own hundreds of product-specific and category-specific domain names that end in "bound.com", such as shoppingbound.com, resortbound.com, timesharebound.com and winebound.com, to name just a few. The domain names cover a vast array of products & services, travel destinations and topics. Communicate.com expects that it will take approximately three to four weeks to complete the transfer of all the URLs.

Communicate.com will integrate the newly acquired URLs into its advertising network, with a few of the domains under consideration for development as B2C and B2B portals.

"Our web portfolio will be enhanced with the addition of these URLs," said David Jeffs, President of Communicate.com. "The new product-specific sites will allow us to increase our advertising revenues and enable us to provide our advertisers with highly targeted leads."

guile,

I would not have banned you if you weren't posting negative in my site. I didn't go post negative in your site to get even did I?

Also, I had no problem with you not selling. I agree with you that the site was worth a lot more than the $250 you paid...you worked hard on it and it looks really nice with the forum icons and all...which is why I offered you a $5,000 package.

Anyway, no hard feelings. I wish you the best with your site.

No, get the facts straight. I replied to your first post explaning the color of my logo was why I picked my color scheme. You then posted you thought I copied...so I didn't want any more negative posts in my forum so I banned you. I think that may be a record...a banning in the first few hours of being open. :-)

If you want to get the facts right, lets look at exhibit A, the actual full conversation taking place on your forum on Brawl.com. Below, is exhibit B FightForum.com, the forum you attempted to buy the day before creating a strikingly similar one.

Evidence

Maybe I am wrong, but if you were the owner of exhibit B at the bottom, and you turned down an offer from a certain somebody to sell your forum, wouldn't you be the slightest bit caught off guard when you visit newly created exhibit A, owned by the buyer you turned away? I tried to be different when choosing a color scheme for fightforum and I haven't seen any vbulletin forums with the same look except for yours. Point 1 out if they are all over the net.

Out classed? LOL You posted negative comments in my forum...and said "thanks for copying" in this forum. Why didn't you just email me your concerns from the start rather than make it public in a forum I just launched? What you did has no class at all. The fact you're insulting me in public speaks volumes about your class. This is too funny. :clown:
When you invest alot of time in something, it's hard not to get emotionally involved when you feel like you are getting ripped off. I probably should have just emailed you, but the fact that you signed up for fightforum.com with the username Brawl.com just to make 1 post to promote your site made me want to stoop to your level. Your right, not exactly the most classy thing to do, but screw that.

I signed up, for your forum as fightforum.com and posted as shown in the screenshot. After you explained, I said no big deal and was going to leave it at that. You banned me? LOL. You realize that you and I were the only 2 members signed up for your forum? I have the screenshot that shows 1 member and 0 guests online.

It wasn't my intention to insult anyone in public, you are the one that posted your entire side of the story in public, so you exposed yourself to be insulted in public.

I may not have a deep wallet, but I did pretty good for a $250 investment and have members that are extremely happy to get away from the Sherdog.coms of the net. I didn't accomplish this from purchasing $60,000 domains, but by creating an original site and by using a little class in the way I run things.

I'll unban you if you promise not to copy anything lol...A joke...I don't want to be enemies over something this stupid. All I can say is best of luck with your site and fights.com, a very nice name. :-)

that's cool...I explained my reason for being upset. I'll let you have your thread back now :-)

OK, I guess the high road is blocked...

See I was right and my facts were straight. I didn't ban you after the first post. Also, both forums are almost stock at that point. I had 3 or 4 more mods to add.

Geeze, here we go again...my logo is black, red and white.

I joined your forum when I was trying to buy it and I thought we were working towards a partnership...which is why I used brawl.com as my ID. I never posted (or logged in) again once I launched my forum.

Exactly...you're making my points for me. The forum just opened and I was still instlling mods. If I had finshed, the forum would have looked nothing like yours.

Why did you even mention the issue in this thread??? Even other members were asking you wtf you were taking about.

I started the same way you did three years ago with broadstreetbully.com. I got that site in Yahoo magazine, on ESPN and it was a Yahoo site of the Day. What's original about your slightly modded vBulliten site?

I never logged in again, so I didn't even know I was banned. However, I would not have posted again under Brawl.com if I did in fact launch my forum for good.

Can you imagine the UFC bitching to Pride FC about pride taking the UFC's fighters???

Under the circumstances, if you don't see why I was concerned, I don't know what else to say. All of this has made me realize that it really doesn't matter if 20 sites look the same, it's about which one is run the best with intelligent conversation and a good team of mods. I honestly have no grudge and don't mind if you use the same exact theme.

I admit that I over-reacted. I knew you were still working on it and wasn't sure at what extent you would stop.

I have nothing else to say...and you have made your point. I don't see any need for negative talk, bans, or pointless debates in the future. I apolagize for any public insults or negative comments and wish you the best with your site.

Hey ya Ken...Great name...

I think the obvious dev project is a fight related site. I don't think you have to limit it to any one style. Just sub domain mini site for each style or sport...you could have target forums for each...a sales section..tickets and fight gear for each style. Boxing as ever is huge, aka, IWF , UF I'm sure you are well aware of all the organizations, federations not to mention have a general fighting news, forum, mall, tickets...even travel accomodations for the fight events..IAN.com and wctravel.com offer good programs.

Anyhow my 2¢..good luck with it...definatly one of the nicer I've seen as of late.

Nope, get ya facts straight.

i just checked the ads for "boxing" under the overture feed and they are the same ones as well.... so go figure :-)

good name.

I think with this name you should make a database with Fight dates for "Boxing,UFC fights, and etc"

ORRRRRRR

You can make a site with a full list and videos of "REAL" street fights that are flying around the internet. Which is the main reason I think people are typing in fights.com..

Pretty good domain..

I love this name. You could focus on any type of fighting sport - boxing, wresting, ultimate fighting, martial arts, or you could make it into an all-encompassing portal for fight news, or a site similar to your brawl.com theme.

I'd value it at mid to upper $XX,XXX.

Adam

Great name - $40,000 - $65,000 is my valuation.

wow great name
$xxxxx mid and above if found the right buyer
good luck

a truly great name.
maybe you can make the forum about different fights in threads in different forums and post about them, starting with this one :-)

hi $xx,xxx
congrats!

I believe fights.com should be something different, such as selling womens cosmetics or lingerie, something to really get a womans attention also.
:approve:

you mean cat.fights? :cheeky:

Games would work too, but be a shame to miss out selling tickets to boxing and wrestling events.
