It just ocurred to me how valuable a .biz name is to potential developers. Right now all anyone can see is a "virgin" .com marketing landscape. 23 million .com names all blended together...

It's kind of like the early 1950's when tennis players only played in white clothing. Wearing any other colors at the local clubs would have been frowned upon. You might have even been sent home to change.

That is how I see the .com market right now. Everything looks "the same". It's like we are in the 1950's. We've got our AM radio's blarin', and the Yankee's are winning "pennant" after "pennant".

Enter ".biz". It would seem to me, that if a "smart" developer realized that getting a .biz site address "out there" right now, in this "virgin" climate, you might be able to garner some attention.

The market will change... You can only hope you recognize when this change is about to occur. For those that do, and are prepared for it, they usually end up with addresses in Beverly Hills, CA.

You've got to be kidding, pod. Those who made a real killing on .COM names in 1995-1997 aren't on this forum, and the ones who didn't are, because they couldn't see the value of .COM back then... They obviously can't see the value of .BIZ now. Which is a good thing ....

I still can't understand why BuyDomains was the top purchaser of .BIZ names with over 2,000 .BIZ domains bought at landrush....

izopodian philsophy: The ones who bought .com names in 1993-1994 (date correction) were lucky. The .biz owners who take advantage of the space in 2002-2003 will be considered smart.

The difference being, we now know what a great, memorable URL address can do for your business! (edit: and you have a great business plan to go with it)

Right! Whether it's "M" or "E", commerce is here to stay...
