I'm trying to determine what a good price might be for this domain... I've owned it a long time, and might be ready to part with it for the right price, but I'm not even sure what the right price is (content, business name not for sale)

Thoughts on a value?

Thanks!

Right around 900$ or so. It may be a little *lowball* but that is the firesale value or there abouts.

Very nice domain.

Id say near $X,xxx

Thanks to all who have replied already.

And to those that have sent me PMs I *DO* appreciate it very much, but I cannot commit to selling this domain until I figure out some idea of a fair value. I'm still in research phase ;)

Look forward to hearing input from others...

A pronouncable five letter .com always will hold value. A name like yours also has very generic meaning and could be used in a couple of industries, so I believe the last two appraisals to be a bit low, I am not an expert on valuing names, but IMO your name is worth from high x,xxx to low xx,xxx, depending on whether you sell it to a reseller or end user. Best of luck!

This name has lots of potential. To sell it fast, you could get $2,000 no problem. If you marketed it a bit to buyers, you could get $5,000.

$900 is definately a lowball evaluation. THe name is clearly in the x,xxx range. But to be honest with you, it has "brand me" written all over it, I would not settle for less then high x,xxx to mid xx,xxx definately a short and quality name screaming to be developed. Hold on to it imho.

Thanks everyone... I really appreciate the input.

In doing some research around the net I noticed that FISH.COM sold for something like a million dollars (in 2005).

I wonder, do you think the right buyer would be willing to pay at least three figures for fishy.com?

Well, as you have a four-figure offer in this thread, I'm guessing so :goofy:

I too would say around mid $x,xxx.

Best of luck :)

LOL okay, I MEANT six figures

DUH, my bad!

:bounce:

I doubt six, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it go for something in the low five figure range if you found the right buyer.

That is some delusional thinking man,

don't worry such is a quite common condition around here.

You could sell wpeiouyruruwdnjfcshcsodfufhnfv.com if you had the right buyer
I say low to mid x,xxx

I agree with comments so far. Here's some recent sales that may illuminate. It a judgement call where fishy is in this list but my thoughts would be somewhere between stinki and whistles, or $12k to $21k. Could go higher but all depends on finding the right buyer.

If you decide to sell drop me a line...
Nice name!

BidNo...

Interesting, thank you for the numbers.

One you left out was...

FISH com $1,020,000 November 2005.

Now, don't get me wrong, I think that's a bit of a lucky fluke (and proves how you need to find the perfect buyer) -- also makes me mad that *I* didn't register that one back in 1996! LOL

In your comparison, I might put FISHY somewhere around gekko... but more for the right buyer (maybe?)

Finding the right buyer is the hard part :)

You're welcome. I only pulled comp's to $100k but you're welcome to also poke around on the high end. The site for comp is in my sig (it's free). For finding one word comp's it's best to use blank keywords, set words to "1" and then select a price range (e.g. $100K-$1M, >$1M, etc.).

Sounds like you already have some interest. Good luck!

Cheers,
