Alot of us base things on Overture results or atleast as a starting point. I've been doing some research on a recent list and it seems that we are the ones providing these great results. Why do you ask? A good portion of the domains I've checked recently have results with the extension and no results without. On multiple occasions I've come across this and alot of these names have snaps on them and they in no way snap worthy names.

Searches done in June 2003
Count Search Term 78 blahblah.com 73 linkdomain blahblah.com

Now I know that you can base you decision on just OV but I think we are giving it way more credit than it deserves.

I agree. I have seen this myself. I don't bother if the domain doesn't look right. Check archive.org as well.

It is JUST a tool and yes ..when you see more results WITH the extension then without ..it's obvious it is bogus.but that is nothing more than common sense..

if you are NOT using overture to help determine a possible market and size of that market then you are missing out on some very important information.

I would NOT use overture to try and figure "type-ins"
..that is a fllawd method..IMO

Well the example you give isn't a great one. Bla-Bla.com was once a HUGE entertainment network (that cheated many people out of money) so it makes sense people would type in blahblah.com

Nevertheless, the overture tool needs to be used with research and common sense at all times. Don't just go on the numbers alone.

blahblah.com wasn't the domain it was used as an example. :)

How do the track there results....is it results from someone typing in the name (blahblah.com) with extention on a search engine (Google) or is it tracked with typins on there site (Overture) ?
