Should I take this email as max offer potential or is it the tip of the iceberg? Mosaicco.com very large company. By the way Mosaicco.com owns floridaphosphate.com

Thank you for your inquiry through Mosaicco.com.

We would be interested in purchasing the domain name
www.floridaphosphates.com for the going rate of $50 for a domain name.

Please let me know if this is what you have in mind.

Never in a million years would I have guessed someone would want that name.

If you can get $500 I'd be extremely pleased.

I wonder if other states produce phosphates?

Did a little research. Phosphate is Florida's third largest industry, after tourism and agriculture.

Mosaic Company is one of the world's leading producers and marketers of concentrated phosphate and potash crop nutrients.

Should I be happy with 500.00 bucks for the domain or am I selling it short??

thanks for any comments

You have to gauge the buyer. Do they have the money to spend on the domain name? If not, sell for low, if so, raise the price. They go from $50 to $500 and they're still buying?

Look at the first email: "for the going rate of $50 per domain name."

That line shows you that they know nothing about domain names.

Try to get $500+ for it, and good luck!

"Florida is the No. 1 producer of phosphate in the world."

"Phosphate rock ore was mined by 10 firms in 4 States, and upgraded into an
estimated 39.7 million tons of marketable product valued at $1 billion, f.o.b. mine. Florida and North Carolina accounted for 85% of total domestic output..."

I would contact Mosaic's competitors, from the looks of things they may have tens of thousands of customers buying phosphates from their site. This is important name in a very specialized but large industry. I would not sell it short.

Thanks for the comments!!

I'm gonna sit on the domain a little longer. It shouldn't diminish in value only go up. More research shows many companies mine phosphate in florida.

Maybe i can maximize the value by contacting them. NO Trademark issues!! Yippee!!!

If they are not up to speed on domain names, offering them another one may dilute or even kill the value of the one they contacted you about.

Send them a letter saying that since there are so many requests you will accept the first $1500 and that the same letter is being set to the others.

It is business.

Sell one then the other to them or their competitors.

Very good point Domains GT!! Floridaphosphates.com and phosphaterock.com both have value here in Florida.

If I can get 1500 I would be tickled!!
