closed foreign Words ,coms. Any value ?

What do you guys think is the value on a foreign word .com: say Greek or Italian common words ? I want a general idea to be able to make an accurate assumption; do they have any value ?

Every appraisal can be helpful,

Do you mean a foreign slang word with .com extension? In general, the .com extension should always be your number one acquisition. If the foreign word is on a foreign extension already you should try for the .com extension because you can basically use that for any language.

The value would depend on the word.

i've wondered about this as well - specifically just as some have a rule of thumb for .net valuation as a % of .com, what would be the valuation as a % of house.com for say casa.com?

There is obviously a huge potential with the Non-english domain market as well as IDN domains. It depends on the Language and amount of speakers. It also depends on the domain itself. Most of the factors apply for Multilingual domains that apply to English domains, search popularity etc...

Of course non-english words .com are valuable...People don't speak only english in the world you know ..There is also french , spannish, german..

I have an Italian .com with around 11 million google results. I haven't received many offers for it, so I guess it depends.. If it's a really strong keyword like "cars", "girls", "loans" or similar then it might be worth alot. If not, I wouldn't expect too much. Good luck though.

top words with .com are gaining more and more value in European countries, since its really the first alternative to the ccTLD. I own about 200 top german .coms, I am getting offers, but I think they are still going to increase in value.

Well, I have conclusione.com . Means 'conclusion' in Italian. 11 million google results. Highest offer I have received is $100. That's a long time ago though and the demand might have increased by now.

It would very much depend on the number of speakers of that language, and the English equivalent of that word.

Obviously the Australian Aboriginal word for "spear" will have nothing on the Greek word for Business, Shopping etc.

So in short, the more the English equivalent domain is worth the more your other language is worth and the more speakers of the language the more it's worth because of the target audience.
