I slapped this one together 2 years ago and never optimized it. I know it isn't glitzy, but I have had some sales. Please don't rag me too badly for it's form.
It doesn't make money by being itself. It makes the money by selling sauces. I was debating selling the whole business, but I'm undecided. A little more marketing, it would make me $xx,xxx. each year. I've never really tried.
If your domain already have a little traffic, you should totally renovate the website, making it look 2008-ish instead of 1996-ish. If you manage to make just a few bucks a week, you can sell it on DNF and make a nice profit. Reinvest that profit in a few nice domains and you've got a foot inside the domaining door. Good luck!
If it was me I would be looking to re-invest some of that $4-500 in putting a proper e-commerce site on there, especially if your already set up to handle the trade. The worst that can happen is you decide in another 12 months time that it hasn't improved anything and you've lost nothing apart from a little effort.
Better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all.
There is a Frank's Red Hot. Trademark Registered But they're makers of a sauce and I'm just a retailer and don't even like or list theirs. Never been a problem and no sign of confusion.
