As a webhost myself, I can safely say that the word hoster is often used. Domainhoster, webhoster, etc.

I say renew it.

I don't mind the domain name persay, but the "Free" business model went out in the late 1990's. I don't envision "Free Hosting" in the future, but who knows.

It's worth more than the "reg fee" especially since alaneads is willing to pay $25. I say sell it to him if you don't plan on developing it yourself.

Go for the sale unless it was your primary hosting site or somethin.

I didn't say it was a legitimate word, only that it's used quite often.
